— New York, NY — Having disappeared for nearly two month between her travels to Italy and work with the big Pharos agent, Derrick is ready to get back to work and first on the list - mend fences with Bakkhos' arms supplier.

— New York, NY — Home from Italy just 3 days, Derrick is still recovering from the injuries received on the strange journey across the ocean. Placed on a forced leave of absence from her duties in Bakkhos she finds herself wandering to the meeting with the "Mighty Mouse" despite her best efforts to talk herself out of it.

Coming near New York however they encounter a storm and Slate and Atticus are returning from Europe where they had been working for the past year for the New World Defense Division.

Injured by a fragment of the Nevus, this was where she develops her ability to map the outside world within her head. She again teams up with Slate Morrison, a comfortable combination that seems to always lead to adventure as the cracks underground drop the two into a world within a world.
