Ember didn't let the innocent smile on her face slip, well aware that she was playing a dangerous game. Had her disguises really been that terrible and easy to see through? She had spent ages trying to get the best hair extensions for one of them. But most people wouldn't have realised her as out of place, let alone following them. Well, she had been following him, but it wasn't because she was some obsessive ex, or someone out to get revenge.
Okay scratch that, she sounded worse than the obsessive stalker.
But she was just doing her job. She didn’t know what exactly the man had done that warranted someone paying a hefty sum for his head, but she wasn’t about to let it bother her. Never get too close to marks. That was her mantra. Too close equated to feelings and feelings equated to her not being able to do her job. Her job was the only thing that put food on the table for her.
Her smile slipped a bit, as she pondered over how she was going to get herself out of this situation. Playing innocent was obviously not going to work in her favour. "Okay, you caught me. Good job, you deserve a medal." She gave him a round of applause. "Maybe I just find you interesting and want to know more?" Keeping up the fake smile, she slid into a seat next to him. "Or maybe I'm just really really bored." Ember shrugged and kept the nonchalant look on her face. All she had to do was get her story and then back the hell away from there. Easy.
